Buyers Club Survey

We have been playing with the Idea of starting a Buyer Club in which we would like to offer materials at greatly discounted prices. But before we go any further we’d like to gauge interest in the potential program.  Read further for some details.

Highlights:

  • Small monthly membership fee, between $5 and $10 per month.
  • Minimal markup on wholesale pricing of materials. Markup will be to cover handling costs.
  • Products will have a window of opportunity, once closed all orders will be processed and remnants will go into the store at regular retail pricing.
  • Group surveys would largely determine products available.

Advantages:

  • Combined buying power allows for near wholesale pricing.
  • Allows growing businesses to minimize materials cost.
  • Rare, expensive or hard to find fabrics will be within reach
  • No more paying premiums for things like MULTICAM Fabrics.
  • Potential to get hard to find colors like OD and Ranger Green made to order.

Sounds interesting? Any idea on specific items? Or would it be like a consistent “group buy”?

This could be a great thing. I have always skimped on buying things like mesh, thread and certain color fabrics because of price. It’s hard to buy (or stock) a full roll of Ranger green when you know may only sell a couple items in that color. I think I have only sold two chest rigs in that color as compared to hundreds of coyote or OD green.

And I don’t even use mesh any more because of availability.

      Colin,

      Thanks for the question.

In essence this is like a large continuous group buy.

We plan to greatly expand our product offering but it will of course depend on club demand. We will be maximizing the use of surveys to get max input from members.

Things like Air Mesh, regular mesh, thread, Various types of Multicam fabrics, potentially foreign patterns, plastic hardware items. I will also be in close contact with my vendors and keep everyone up to date on seconds that may be available which are usually greatly discounted.

We may also be able to offer hard to find colors in webbing by getting enough commitment through the membership to purchase a dye lot. Of course there would be a lead time on something like that since it would be manufactured to order.

      More info to come…

We might be interested but are curious as to what products will be featured.

    Let us know your thoughts.

I’m REAL new here. I am just a “dabbler” but I would like to get to a point where I can have a little more materials on hand to play with.
I know that when I get more into it that some of my buds will want to try this also.
I figure the more the merrier!

i Think its a great idea, how close are we to getting it started. I’d like to see some punches and presses in the mix if thats feesable, besides material and things. count me in please

I like the idea as well. I would like to see the idea explored of the “fabric or item of the month” Each member would pay some set fee and every month, or whatever time period was set, each member would recieve that item to play with. This would allow the club to bulk buy materials and take advantage of any sales that might come up

Don’t know if you are still working on the idea as the site hasn’t been updated lately, but if you start a buyer’s club, I’m in. Shoot me an email when you start.
